Lanzhou City University, in Gansu province, is a provincial full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education in 2006. It has 52 undergraduate programs covering nine disciplines: engineering, science, economics, management, law, education, literature, history and art.

The university has three campuses: the main campus, the Peili campus and the east campus. They cover 505,400 square meters and a building area of 477,500 sq m. The university has 168 million yuan ($23.79 million) worth of teaching and research equipment, with a library holding 1.12 million printed documents, 1 million electronic books and 29 electronic resource databases.

The university has 1,137 staff members, including 109 professors, 300 associate professors, 103 doctors and 616 masters. It also has two experts who enjoy the special government allowance from the State Council. At present, there are more than 13,600 full-time students at the university.

The university promotes international cooperation and exchanges, and has established partnerships with more than 10 foreign universities, including Fort Hays State University, University of Central Oklahoma, and Georgia Southwestern State University.
