This year, high-tech industries in Jiayuguan Industrial Park in Gansu province have continued to grow while the innovation capabilities of local businesses improve.

The industrial park is currently home to 396 enterprises, including 73 enterprises above the designated size. As of now, the total industrial output value and the industrial added value of the park are 23.11 billion yuan ($3.22 billion) and 2.52 billion yuan, respectively, year-on-year increases of 9.5 percent and 9.6 percent.

Dedicated efforts are being made to build two industrial clusters for steel and aluminum new materials, each capable of generating 100 billion yuan in annual output value, as well as multiple characteristic industrial clusters for new energy, advanced equipment manufacturing, channel logistics and more, each capable of generating 10 billion yuan in annual output value.

A steel production system which has the largest variety and most complete specifications of products in China's northwest region has been established in the park. An aluminum industry base, which is the second largest in China's northwest region, has also been established.

Last year, the output value of the special steel and aluminum new material industry in the park reached 111.1 billion yuan.

The park has also been deepening cooperation with key enterprises to carry out precise investment attraction. In recent years, agreements on more than 133 projects worth over 100 million yuan each have been signed, with a total of 16 billion yuan in funding.
