The newly revamped Weiheyuan scenic area, a 4A-level scenic area in Weiyuan county, Dingxi city, Northwest China's Gansu province, opened its doors for business on the 15th China Tourism Day being held on May 19.

Costing over 160 million yuan ($22.17 million), the scenic area's renovation and upgrading project was launched in September 2023. It focuses on the building of the Ruyi Tribe vacation experience base, including the establishment of a folk children's experience area, a leisure service area and a camping activity area.

The scenic area not only has service facilities including boardwalks and observation pavilions, but also boasts the Weihe River Historical and Cultural Exhibition Hall, cliff carvings and more.

The scenic area prepared a variety of cultural and artistic activities for the reopening day, including special markets featuring handicrafts, rural produce and wild vegetable picking activities.
