Wuwei's improved business environment helps attract more businesses
Wuwei city in Gansu province has been making every effort to build a first-class industrial development environment for businesses.
To that end, it's moved to promote the extension of industry supply chains, the growth of industrial clusters and the prosperity of the urban and rural economies.
Last year, Wuwei set up a dedicated municipal administrative window called the "Efficient Completion of One Thing" service area, which enabled the self-service handling of 210 enterprise-related matters.
Gulang county in Wuwei city also established an investment project agency service center last year.
This involved the participation of 18 local departments responsible for approval functions, offering efficient approval services and providing agency services throughout the whole process for projects.
In Minqin county in Wuwei city, an intelligent wind turbine manufacturing base being funded by Jiangyin Envision Energy – from Wuxi city in East China's Jiangsu province – is currently ramping up production to enable the brisk delivery of orders.

From the landing of the first intelligent wind turbine manufacturing project three years ago to the completion and operation of the third intelligent energy storage manufacturing project in August last year, the company has now formed a full industry supply chain in Minqin county, including wind turbine blades and energy storage facilities.
In addition to its abundant natural resources and broad-based consumer market, Minqin is continuing to optimize its business environment and it's provided convenient conditions for the development and growth of enterprises, said Li Tengyu, the company's investment and development manager in Gansu.
Statistics showed that in the first quarter, Wuwei city generated regional GDP of 17.65 billion yuan ($2.42 billion), up 7 percent year-on-year. What's more, fixed asset investment increased 12.3 percent year-on-year, 2.4 percentage points higher than the provincial level.
