What Turkmen are most proud of may be the Akhal-Teke horse, one of the oldest breeds of horses in the world, which have been cultivated for over 3,000 years. This kind of horse, having a slender body, short coat, and a streamlined physique, are known for their speed and endurance.
When a white Akhal-Teke horse runs, the capillary vessels under its skin will become congested, making its skin turn pink. For this reason, it was known as "blood-sweating heavenly horses" in ancient China.

Turkmen jewelry stands out with its beautifully artistic, diverse, and rich designs. The most commonly used gemstones by jewelers are turquoise and carnelian. Different jewelry is worn by different age groups.
Girls from various regions in Turkmenistan often wear embroidered headscarves, which not only have unique designs but also diverse patterns.
