National innovative industrial cluster born in Lanzhou

The biological pharmaceutical industry in Lanzhou Hi-tech Zone has been approved to take part in the pilot program for developing state-level innovative industrial clusters, as stated by the Torch Program Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology on Feb 14.
The construction of a comprehensive innovation base has been sped up in the Lanzhou Hi-tech Zone, which was established for research and development, pilot tests, incubation and exhibitions.
It is now home to more than 200 biomedical companies, with an output value exceeding 20 billion yuan ($2.92 billion) and an annual tax payment of 1.26 billion yuan.
The other 45 finalists, such as the ocean engineering equipment industry in Binhai New Area in Tianjin and the aeronautic equipment industry in Harbin, also featured on the list of the 2022 national innovative industrial clusters.
