The Tianzhu Tibetan autonomous county, Wuwei, Gansu province, located at the east end of the Qilian Mountain, is known as the "Gateway of the Hexi Corridor". Its pure white glaciers, majestic mountains, crystal rivers and vast grasslands constitute a 7,000-square-kilometer plateau.

In winter, the Tiantang town is quiet and stoic. The villagers are busy practicing songs and the Guozhuang dance, a popular bonfire dance, as they prepare to present a program for tourists.

This year, the local residents made some money by developing agritainment.

Since the beginning of this year, the county has invested 541 million yuan ($78.7 million) in building nine key cultural tourism projects, including scenic infrastructure and intangible cultural heritage exhibition centers. Over 110 residents were trained to be cultural heritage inheritors.
