Zhangye, Gansu province, has rolled out a slew of preferential policies to guide enterprises in trade and logistics, accommodation and catering, and cultural tourism to open up in an orderly manner.

Despite the cold weather, about 1,000 workers are busy working in the comprehensive utilization project of silicon-based new materials at the Gansu Hexi Silicon Industry New Materials Co. This is a microcosm of Zhangye city's efforts to implement major infrastructure projects in time.

At present, many key projects are being accelerated to meet planned deadlines, including the Zhangye Olympic Sports Center, the heat source plant of the Circular Economy Demonstration Park in the city's economic development zone, and the high-quality farmland in Linze county.

In terms of resuming business, Ganzhou district of Zhangye has introduced measures to stimulate spending directly by reducing or exempting commercial tenants' rent, delaying the renewal of certificates and guarantees, extending loan periods and distributing consumption coupons.

Zhangye municipal finance invested 10 million yuan ($1.44 million) to help more than 170 companies carry out consumption promotion activities, focusing on green home appliances, automobiles and the catering sector, which has leveraged social consumption of 240 million yuan.

The city also has made great efforts in publicity, tapping the vitality of market players, and launching cultural and tourism activities to benefit the people.

Over 100 various cultural and tourism activities are under preparation for the New Year and Spring Festival holidays, such as the Pingshan Lake mountaineering activity and the Shandan county folk culture temple fair.
