Customs clearance mode to boost characteristic industries

The rail freight was the first to road test a pilot customs clearance mode, which will save time, and ensure a resilient supply chain for local characteristic industries.
Jinchuan Group, headquartered in Jinchang city, is China's leading nonferrous metal manufacturer. It requires over 600,000 tons of railway-transported imported copper concentrate each year. It became the first enterprise to enjoy the bonus of the pilot policy.
"The cargo's transportation time from entering the country to entering the factory will be shortened to 3-5 days, which equates to a 60 million yuan reduction of comprehensive operating costs per year." said deputy general manager Zhou Min.
"The copper concentrate will pass through the customs at port of entry, undergoing radiographic testing and solid waste screening at the destination customs," introduced Zhang Jun, an officer of Lanzhou Customs, adding that this mode will deliver real benefits to enterprises.
